Stressing the Facts at Work

 

Friday March 27th is the first National Workplace Wellbeing Day in Ireland. It is a day designed to raise awareness of health and wellbeing in the workplace and educate employers and employees about ways to optimise health. The working landscape is changing in Ireland and all over the world. More and more of the workforce work in non-manual jobs that require their brain power rather than brawn. This means more of the health issues for staff now relate to psychological and psycho-physiological issues rather than traditional health and safety concerns such as manual handling, slips and falls or chemical exposure.

Hyperconnectivity in Brain Linked to Depression

This article was on the front page of the Life section of USA today. At Life and Balance Centre, we measure brain wave activity with the NeuroInfiniti Stress Response Evaluation to see if your brain is in balance.

People with depression appear to have hyperactive brain activity, says a study published online Tuesday that offers new insights into the brain dysfunction that causes depression.

Experts say a normal brain should be able to process lots of diverse information. New research reveals that the brains of people with depression are "less versatile" in that regard.

Life and Balance Centre at Mind Body Spirit Festival

On 12th, 13th and 14th March, Life and Balance Centre had a stand at the Mind Body Spirit Festival in Dublin. 



We had a fantastic time conducting health and stress checks, Neuro-Infiniti Stress Response Demonstrations and Evaluations and Bars Sessions.
